REFERENDUM ON THE PRESHUTE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
The Referendum on the Preshute Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday
2nd February 2023. The turn-out of our widely spread rural community was
a remarkable 36.6%, of which 88% supported the proposed Plan.
Accordingly, the Preshute NP has now been ‘Made’ and will sit alongside
the Local and National statutes covering development within Preshute.

The Preshute NP has been prepared by Preshute Parish Council with a passion and vision to maintain and develop the assets of our historic parish. We live within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is as fundamental a feature of this part of north-east Wiltshire as the River Kennet and our immediate neighbours, the World Heritage Area at Avebury. Our priceless environment has always supported a busy rural economy and part of the Neighbourhood Plan’s objective is to allow this economy to flourish while conserving the historic features and accepting we live within a hugely popular area for leisure.
After two and a half years hard work, 3 public consultations and close working with key agencies and Wiltshire Council, our community has given the Preshute NP resounding support at the Referendum on 2nd February 2023.
